Massage Gift Vouchers in Slough: A Present That Actually Gets Used
13 October 2026 · 5 min read

Most presents get used once and then live in a drawer. A massage gets used, remembered, and quietly appreciated for about a fortnight afterwards, which is a better return than another candle.
We sell gift vouchers at the studio, and the people who buy them tend to fall into a pattern: someone who will happily spend money on everyone else and nothing on themselves. If that describes a person on your list, this is the straightforward guide to buying one.
What you are actually buying
A session at our studio on 44 High St, in the centre of Slough. Nothing more complicated than that.
- 30 minutes, £40. Focused work on one area, usually back, neck and shoulders.
- 60 minutes, £60. The full treatment, whole body or real time on the problem areas.
The recipient chooses from our three treatments when they book: Full Body Swedish Massage, Head, Neck and Shoulders, or Foot and Leg Relief. You do not have to pick for them, and most people would rather you did not.
Who this is a genuinely good present for
Some gifts are a polite guess. This one is not, if the person fits.
- The one who never books anything for themselves. Usually a parent. They will not spend £60 on an hour off, but they will use a voucher, because it feels like it has already been paid for.
- The partner who keeps mentioning their back. You have heard about it for months. This is a reasonable response to that.
- Someone whose job is physical. Trades, delivery driving, warehouse work, care work. Their body takes a beating and nobody buys them anything for it.
- The desk worker who finishes the year wrecked. Especially if they have been carrying a stiff neck since about March.
- A new parent, a few months in. An hour where nobody needs anything from them is worth more than it sounds.
Who it is not right for
We would rather say this than take the money.
Some people genuinely do not like being touched by a stranger, and no amount of thoughtfulness changes that. If you are not sure, you probably know the answer already.
It is also worth being clear about what we are. We are a massage studio, not a spa. There are no changing rooms, showers, saunas, steam rooms or relaxation lounges. If the present you have in mind is a day of lounging in a robe, this is not that, and you would be disappointed on their behalf.
Thirty minutes or an hour?
If they have never had a massage, thirty minutes at £40 is the sensible gift. It is long enough to be worth having, short enough that a nervous first timer is not committing to an hour on a table with a stranger.
If they have had one before and liked it, buy the hour. Thirty minutes goes quickly when there is a lot to work through, and nobody has ever finished a sixty minute massage wishing it had been shorter.
If you are buying for a couple, two separate vouchers work better than one long one. We have one room and one therapist, so it is one person at a time.
What happens when they come in
Worth knowing, so you can tell them.
They ring or email to book a time that suits them. On the day there is a short chat about their work, what hurts and anything to avoid, then the session. They undress only to the level they are comfortable with and stay covered by a towel throughout. That question is answered properly here, and it is the one most people are too polite to ask.
Pressure is up to them. We work firmly on request, within Swedish technique, so if they want it strong they only have to say. If the difference between firm and deep tissue matters to them, this explains it.
The practical bits
Vouchers are non-transferable, so buy it for the person who is going to use it rather than as something to pass along.
To buy one, ring 07951 975005 or email info@workbreak.co.uk and say who it is for and which length you want. We will sort it out with you directly, which for a studio our size is quicker than any online basket.
Our hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 4pm to 8pm, so whoever receives it can realistically find a slot without taking time off work. That is the point of the late finishes.
If you are buying for Christmas
Order it before the middle of December rather than on the 23rd. Not because we will run out, but because the last fortnight before Christmas is the busiest part of our year and we would rather spend five minutes getting it right for you than two minutes in a rush.
One other thing worth knowing: January is when massage vouchers actually get redeemed. People hold on to them through the Christmas chaos and then book in once the decorations are down and the dark evenings start to get to them. That is fine, and arguably the better time to use it.
Is it a cop-out present?
Only if you buy it the way people buy a gift card for a shop they have never been to.
Bought for the right person, it is the opposite. You have noticed that they are tired, or that their shoulder has been bothering them since the summer, and you have done something about it rather than mentioning it again. Most people find that more thoughtful than an object.
And if they end up coming back regularly afterwards, which a fair number do, this covers how often is sensible. For what a first session costs and involves from start to finish, we wrote the whole thing out here.
